Sam and I celebrated our first monthaversary tonight. 1/11/11! Since I’ve been pretty domesticated the last few weeks, we went out to Sushi Tomi to feast at their sushi bar.
We had our usual… salmon sashimi/saba shioyaki combo, an order of amaebi sashimi, an order of uni, salmon skin roll, tarako onigiri, and we tried the gyutan yakitori. Yum!!
I love their version of salmon skin roll; no yucky sauces to mask any flavor and they put a fresh shiso leaf in there to add some zing!
Sushi Tomi has one of the freshest, creamiest uni sashimi in the Bay Area. It almost rivals Sushi Ota in SD… almost… Sam loves their amaebi and I love the fried amaebi heads.
I might seem nuts for ordering onigiri here, but they use a super fresh tarako and they serve it with super yummy pickles!
We love their sake sashimi. It’s buttery and fresh. Over the years I’ve grown extremely fond of salmon. Sadly, now I enjoy it raw a lot more than the cooked version.
We wrapped everything up with an order of the beef tongue skewers. Smoky and meaty. Love it!! It had a lot of texture to it. I loved it. I got to enjoy it much more than the braised version from Gochi.
No pictures of the saba since Sam started digging into it as soon as it was placed in front of him.
Happy 1 Month! 😀
